A mastermind group can be a very powerful thing. This book presents a blueprint for forming a group and running meetings. It gets right to the point to get you started right away. Time is precious; confidentiality and trust are essential. Some structure is necessary to be fair and get the most out of the meetings for the whole group. I have found that 5 to 9 people in a group work best. One reason is that everyone needs an opportunity to speak and share ideas. When meetings are constrained to an hour or so during a work day, it is important to keep the group small and focused for best results.

I have been an active member of several groups and once formed a group to focus on my need. That group inspired me and provided specialized knowledge that enabled me to lead a Toastmasters District to rank #1 in the world. An achievement unmatched in the Washington, DC area.

Sometimes groups don't work out, despite good intentions. There are productive ways to deal with these occasions and maintain good relationships. If one group is not providing the results you envisioned, form your own group. Realize that your expectations, particularly in the forming stage, need to be realistic. It takes time to develop the trust necessary for members to share their ideas.
If you would like some elaboration and examples, I recommend the Mastermind Manual.

In this book I have added an Afterword by Tom Antion,Consumer Advocate, who cautions about Fake Mastermind Sessions.
