Cheryl Allenbrand was born in Liberal, Kansas, spent her early childhood in Lawrence, Kansas, and later moved Raytown, Missouri. In high school she had her first-born child, a son, which she gave up for adoption. Following college, she married and raised three children in the Kansas City metropolitan area, where she has remained throughout her life. From the heart of America, Cheryl's life story has been filled with excruciating struggles. All which she has endured and ultimately prevailed over serves as a universal inspiration--especially for women. She suffered through abusive marriages, debilitating depression, and severe attention deficit. To help her see through, she developed a relationship with the Lord and relied on her simple faith. Just a short time later, she lost her three adult children to horrendous deaths, all within a six-year period. The pain and shock numbed her. The guilt of surviving her children weighed her down. Then, late in her golden years, a miraculous event took place. She was reunited with her first-born son--after a span of fifty-seven years not knowing whether he was dead or alive, or near or far. Cheryl lives with her long-time husband, Gary, in Overland Park, Kansas. Her son, Robert Fowler, and his wife, live nearby.
