As World War One breaks out in Europe, Patrick O'Connor, a young Irish farmer is swept away by an over whelming feeling for something more. His whole life he had spent on his family's farm outside a small town. He wanted to see the world and find adventure. The war would be a perfect way to go abroad or so he thought.
