Rissa Dayton went West to live with her sister, at least until she could find another teaching job. There was nothing more for her back East but bad memories, and Winnie Dayton Caldwell had found the love of her life, Isaac, on a huge cattle ranch well outside of Albuquerque.
Unfortunately, when she arrived, she found that Isaac had a brother—a big, tall, muscular bear of a man who was autocratic, irascible, egotistical and dominant, with a capital D—and he wasn’t at all afraid of throwing his weight around and taking snippy little redheaded gals from outside Boston to task, in the most humiliating way possible.
For his part, Doyle Caldwell was still trying to get over the loss of his beloved wife, and Miss Clarissa wasn’t being any kind of a help. It was the last straw when he found her in his office, behind what had been a closed door, playing with his loaded six shooter.
Needless to say, his administration of a punishment didn’t endear him to the little termagant, and when whiskey caused them both to forget their inhibitions one night in that same office, Doyle decided the only honorable thing to do was to get married.
Unfortunately, his intended bride wouldn’t allow herself to be easily convinced.
But Doyle knows how to tame the most raucous of fillies, and he soon has Rissa eating out of his hand.
Publisher's Note: This historical romance has all the qualities of a steamy story, complete with graphic sexual scenes and disciplining of an adult woman. If this offends you, please do not read it.
