Interior Fields is the story of a man in the grip of a long, hard manic episode. Like watching a plane crash from the cockpit, it takes the idea of seeing a man’s private life to its most intimate degree. Trying to see through another man’s eyes is the journey and the destination is watching a ripple spread across the surface of a pond. Peter Pepon can’t catch a break. He is mentally ill with an erratic bipolar disorder, he’s jobless, his wife is unexpectedly pregnant, and he comes face to face with the only other woman he’s ever loved. Add to that a selfishly violent society and an arson investigation with Peter as the only suspect, and the events in this period of his life are almost inevitable. Peter’s friend Daniel does his best to make things unstable to witness just how far Peter’s mania can go.
