Why we are known as a church is as a result of the sacrifice of certain men and women who out of their love for God had to shed their blood on the sand of Africa. They left their loved ones, comfortable environments and willingly came and gave their lives that we may see the light of the gospel. They endured several persecutions and were eventually killed by villagers who thought those servants of God were either spirits or mere imperialist. The gospel was brought to us by the grace of God alone; we were able to embrace it. We as a church is obviously reaping the fruits that others had sown.

But it does not end there. If we look around, we will see that there are still people dwelling in darkness. The work of mission does not end. It continues till Christ comes. We must therefore understand that we are saved in order to used of God to save others. There are souls in several nooks and crannies, who are heading to destruction. We must understand that it is our responsibility to carry on the work of mission.
