Jack Kelly and his family are forced to leave his beloved city of Dublin and move to the countryside of County Clare. For city-boy Jack, that means everything he loves about his life has suddenly changed - for the worse.
Jack loves football, but there’s nowhere for him to play - just a big boring forest full of big boring trees. But when Jack goes walking along the forest trails, he has a strange encounter with a heron and learns that there is a lot more to the forest than just trees.
The heron leads Jack deep into the forest. Jack sees that the forest is a world of its own, brimming with beauty, magic and mystery. But then he meets Elder, a wise tree, who tells Jack that the forest is in terrible danger and that it’s up to him to save it. The challenge is set and Jack Kelly is about to start the biggest adventure of his whole life.
