In June 1969 seven assisted migrants stepped out of the plane that had touched down in a strange place called Hobart. Jenny Williams was one of those adults. From that time on nothing of what they knew was of any use to them. Like newborns they had to learn to exist in a different world.

Jenny's Coffee House takes the reader into the rich heart of a hard working family searching for their niche in life. Full of the drama (disappointment and triumph) of a life fully lived; this is an evocative and compelling work. Hobart shimmers and enchants, Europe is never far away, while Jenny welcomes us all like best friends into her world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Eugenia Jenny Williams is the author of Yenni: Ay Life between Worlds (Pluto Press 2002). In 2006 that book was voted one of the fifteen best loved and read books in Tasmania. Born in 1936 in Kosice, a city now in the Slovak Republic, Jenny and her family illegally escaped Soviet occupied Czechoslovakia in 1968. After living in Vienna they arrived in Tasmania in 1969. During 39 years in Australia Jenny has worked as a washer upper, a factory worker, a laboratory analyst, and the proprietor of three successful businesses including Jenny's Coffee House.
