Jonathan Brown is an assassin, a man for hire, he moves within our world unseen until it is too late. Today he is working for a secretive empire that has been controlling the governments of the world for many generations. His job is simple, kill and go undetected, kill and take the money.

The target is a scientist who is waiting outside a shopping complex; a hit that at first seems routine but it will soon go in a direction that is out of Jonathan’s experience and expertise. The job leads to another; the removal of Doctor Helen Dudman.

She is more than first appears and soon Jonathan encounters difficulties that he cannot deal with.

The story moves from Europe to the United States and sees another, far more powerful, organisation that is manipulating the project owners. The true purpose of the research remains out of reach from all those that think they control it. Had the man he killed on the street corner stumbled onto the real direction the research was going? Was that why he had to die?

Does Doctor Helen Dudman, an agent of the United States government, know what is going on? A trip to Hong Kong only drives the mystery deeper to a more complex outcome.

The findings from the research are put to the test with a trial deployment. The test appears to go exactly as planned but soon things start to go badly wrong.

Jonathan and Helen are soon forced to flee the area of the tests and seek refuge in a remote part of Europe. Will the remoteness of their hideaway be enough to keep them safe or are they also in mortal danger; will anyone escape what is to come?
