Conflict with nature will always occur, this is true. But by acknowledging the constant growth of biological and ecological sciences, we can mitigate – and at times entirely prevent – such conflicts.

The reason The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals (APFA) has undertaken the Living With Wildlife campaign is simple: to fill a need.

Beavers are a keystone species and are responsible for maintaining extremely sensitive and important wetlands from coast to coast. Without them, ecosystems truly begin to fail.

It is the hope of The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals that this book may provide the basis for understanding of the benefits of co-existence and an introduction to the potential solutions available to landowners and municipalities.
