The recent development of ICT is playing an important role in restructuring of libraries. Each of the libraries and librarians have to be update themselves with latest electronic technologies because librarians have to remind themselves and others that technology can only be a tool in the hands of librarian to help and guide their users. The methods of librarian help to the users may change as technology advances, but the principles remain stable. However, librarians have to update their libraries, their products, services and procedures to cope up with the fast developing world of an electronic era. On the occasion of a National Seminar on "Redefining the role of librarian in electronic era" Experts of ICT, librarians and others were got together and wholeheartilY discussed about the role of librarian in electronic era. It is great pleasure that a compendium of papers is being published. I am sure this would help all the stakeholders for their endeavor to up scale the existing R & D resources to e-resources and provide plate form to build human resources to modern world.
