Death - it’s no joke for a comedian

Lenny Lampton, long forgotten seventies comedian, is back and centre stage, hosting TV’s top rated Saturday talent show.

Despite hearing voices of his long dead wife, Lenny is doing well, until his co-host dies at one of Lenny’s legendary after show parties. To make matters worse, the newspapers get hold of pictures that make it look as if the cause of death is an overdose.

Chief Superintendent Jim Smith is sent to investigate and calls his old mate Caleb to consult. It doesn’t look like an overdose to Jim. Someone moved the co-host after she died and leaked pictures to the newspapers.

Jim suspects Lenny is up to no good.

Caleb suspects it has something to do with Lenny’s agent and an unsigned contract.

Can Caleb help Jim uncover the truth before Jim makes it worse?

Set in London, this financial thriller finds a high street accountant helping the police to solve a murder and untangle a web of conspiracy in the world of TV comedians and high-rolling media deals.

Warning

This story contains criminals and unpleasant people who swear – quite a lot! If you don’t like rude words, you might find parts of the story uncomfortable to read.

Second Edition

This second edition responds to reader feedback; which is always welcome. This edition has been reviewed to be consistent with British English, has a table of contents and other cues to improve the reading experience and enhance your enjoyment.
