Longwold

Four nine-year-old girls meet randomly on their first day at a Catholic boarding school in Essex. Surprisingly, they hit it off. All come from talented, well-heeled professional and loving families. Though their interests are diverse they quickly find common ground with each other and pool their talents and soon prosper in their new environment. Their group includes Tilly who wants to work for a newspaper or a television news programme, who was also fascinated by heraldry, Alice who is working towards her black belt in Judo, Ruth who wants to be a Historian and Carol who wants to be a children's doctor. Tillie's family owns a rambling Tudor manor named Longwold in the Cotswolds which they all love to visit. They go on to achieve great success in their endeavours and remain lifetime friends.
