Megadeth is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, that was founded in 1983 by Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson. Since then the band has released 14 studio albums. An innovator of the American thrash metal movement, Megadeth rose to international reputation in the 1980s and is among the "Big Four of Thrash" along with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, who created, developed and popularized the thrash metal sub-genre.
More than the band's 30 working years, more than 20 people have officially performed as part of the band, while Mustaine was the only persistent fellow.
