Two retired teachers, one an English teacher and one a social studies teacher, meet in Memphis, Tennesse for a reunion and to visit the music sites in and around the city. They have both received $100.00 dollar bills from a man named Parnell Deauxpree whom they met a year earlier in the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio while on a trip to Cleveland and The Rock And Roll Haal Of Fame. It was there, one of the teachers saved the life of Pocahontas O’Brien an attractive Apache Irish woman who has now pledged her love to him. She works for Parnell Deauxpree.
When the teachers arrive in Memphis, they find an expensive bottle of Chardonnay and a flash drive in their room. After a rooftop swim where they encounter some Chinese women, they return to find that someone has broken into their room. And then their adventure begins. With many twists and turns, the main characters become involved in a plot that involves various forms of deception and betrayal most of which uses them as innocent pawns.
While in Memphis, the two main characters visit such interesting places as the Memphis Ground Zero bar, Sun records, Stax records, Graceland, the Rendevouz restaurant, the Gibson guitar factory, the Rock and Soul museum, Earnestine’s & Hazels, the WC Handy museum and finally take a road trip to Clarksdale, Mississippi to visit the Delata Blues museum and the original Ground Zero bar which is owned by Morgan Freeman.
