The day after the events told in "Drop Dead Tavern," Kent wakes up to the sound of an old man yelling on the street. The sign he wears reads "THE SEA GAVE UP THE DEAD THAT WERE IN IT!" and he quotes the same line of scripture over and over, a doomsday tirade against the zombies infesting the world. Kent has seen this kind of thing before: a religious fanatic before the outbreak converted into a zealous lunatic after the undead began to rise.

But Kent will soon learn that this old man, Joshua, is more dangerous than the zombies because he proclaims to be a post-apocalyptic messiah, who, with his disciples, will put an end to the wasteland of the undead and usher in the New World. And those that don't accept him as their savior will suffer a cruel and tormenting death.

Now Kent must try to stop Joshua. Along the way, he will have to confront the ghosts of his own haunting past, his brother and the little boy Ben, and find a way to kill Joshua, who has the apparent power to rise from the dead, proving he may indeed be the Messiah of the Zombie Apocalypse.

A 14,300 word novelette - also includes the introductory 3,500 word short story, "Drop Dead Tavern," as a free bonus.
