Stirling
Stirling Dexter married Lexi Bella Renaud in a hurry to make sure she got the medical attention that she needed. He could only do that as her husband.
After her surgery, he had to return to Chicago to straighten out the mess that had occurred when he had left in a hurry. He knew he loved the girl he left in Los Angeles but had he married her because he loved her, or had it just been pity?
Things kept occurring in Chicago to prevent him from returning to her, and he knew if he could just speak with her again everything would be okay, and he could appease his guilt for not returning to her as soon as he should have.
Lexi
Lexi Bella Renaud woke to find herself in a strange city with her head hurting and wrapped in a large bandage. She learns she has had brain surgery, and that she is all alone.
But she isn’t alone. She keeps hearing about her husband and his willingness to return to her as soon as she needs him. She hasn’t heard a word from the mysterious husband, and she doesn’t remember getting married. So far no one has been by to see her except for her doctors and the nurses who care for her daily.
Her heart aches for her grandmother, and try as hard as she can she can’t remember the man who she married. She’s afraid she will be homeless once she returns to Chicago, and her situation looks more dismal every day. Until her handsome, mysterious husband returns to Los Angeles for her.
