Are you looking for a more balanced approach to life?
This book teaches you how to deal with pressure and enjoy challenges. It guides you through the exact same exercises business leaders, world-class performers and professional athletes have done to perform at their very best when it matters most. You'll get all the practical tools to train how to stay relaxed and focused at the same time under all circumstances. If you're looking for a way to enhance your concentration level that will improve the quality of your everyday life, Mindset in daily life is your go-to guide.
High performance coach and former professional tennis player Jackie Reardon has trained a wide array of peak performers. She uses unorthodox mindfulness exercises with sport as a metaphor to improve their focus and awareness. Combining her expertise in professional sports and mindfulness she developed a hands-on philosophy called Friendly Eyes to guide company leaders, stage performers and athletes of all levels to reach their best. Friendly Eyes means: being kind to ourselves, being kind to others and to observe without judgment. Because by being friendly to yourself, you can make the progress you want.
About the Authors
Jackie Reardon (1962, born in England, currently living in the Netherlands) is founder and creator of Friendly Eyes, a hands-on philosophy that teaches how to deal with pressure, improve focus and enjoy challenges in all facets of life. She has worked with world champions and Olympic gold medallists both in individual and team sports, world performers and captains of industry.
As a young adult, she played on the professional tennis circuit. She struggled with her emotions, over which she sometimes lost control. After leaving professional tennis, she started coaching tennis players of all levels drawing upon her expertise in high performance. Many years later, she discovered Vipassana meditation. It was the beginning of finding inner calm and new discoveries and set her life on a new course.
She started integrating her knowledge of high performance with meditation and mindfulness techniques. To her great joy, her approach led to students getting better results and having more fun. It encouraged her to develop a wide array of mindfulness exercises using sport as a metaphor, suitable for anyone, both on and off the sports field, interested in improving their performance.
Together with novelist Hans Dekkers she co-wrote Mindset, a mental guide for sport and Mindset in Daily Life. In 2017 she teamed up with Ay Mey Lie and Ed Wrede to make this knowledge available in an online platform called Friendly Eyes. The free mental training program, with over 65 videos, shows you how to develop world-class laser focus using a compassionate look at the world.
