How much is too much? Aniya, is the daughter of a crack addict. Her strength is repeatedly challenged by the most traumatic of circumstances. At age 15, she is raped by her mother’s boyfriend. When she discovers she is pregnant, she faces agonizing uncertainty: Is the father of her baby a rapist or the boyfriend she has recently become intimate with?

After her boyfriend leaves for college, her mother enrolls in a drug rehabilitation program, and Aniya is left with an unborn child, feeling abandoned and afraid. She finds unexpected refuge in the home of a seemingly nice couple. Having recently moved into the neighborhood, they appear to embrace Aniya, as their own. For the first time in a long time, she feels loved. For Aniya, though, this euphoria is fleeting. These people who have won her trust are not as wonderful as they appear. And a twisted turn of events, soon leads to the disappearance of Aniya’s baby girl.

Determined to find her child, Aniya enlists help from an unlikely source, her own mother. United, the two work long hours to cover the cost of a private detective. Meanwhile, despite the agony of missing her baby, life must continue. Aniya never gives up working towards earning her high school diploma. Years pass, and Aniya finds herself preparing to walk the stage to accept her diploma. She has worked so hard to reach this moment. Still, as she looks out over the crowd, she can not shake the pain of not knowing where her precious baby girl could be.

Will Aniya ever recover her missing daughter? Could the clues to finding her baby be staring her right in the face?
