Morgan McKenna is daddy’s little princess. But his sudden death hits the precocious toddler at the worst possible age: she's old enough to feel the pain, but too young to process the grief. After struggling through special needs classes, Morgan lands a job as a library page after high school.
Travis Cooper is a brilliant college student, but he's barely pulling a C in Girls 101. That all changes senior year when he meets Dana. She’s smart, beautiful, and easy to talk to.
When Travis runs into Morgan while searching for a book, he strikes up a painfully awkward conversation with the girl he knew in grade school as ‘McMousey.’ Even though he has a girlfriend back on campus, he returns to the small Morgantown Road library every Saturday to chat with the shy, stuttering, sometimes silly community college girl.
As they talk about life, love, guilt, grief, art, theatre, big dreams and British lit, Travis slowly realizes he has underestimated Miss McKenna. But he’s too wrapped up with Dana, his campus dream girl, to notice that Morgan is starting to bloom like a hothouse rose.
With his college days winding down, Travis is thrown into turmoil. He may have to choose between Dana and a prestigious grad program in England. To make matters worse, the relationship with his little library friend is a tiny bit more complicated than he thought.
