Kate Douglas Wiggin (1856 – 1923) was an American educator and author of children's stories. One of her most notable classic children's novel is Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm even now considered to be the most popular one.
“Mrs. Chinchilla, The Tale of the Cat” is a story about a lovely beautiful cat, with sleek fur like a silver-gray satin and a very handsome tail. Mrs Chinchilla also had three little pretty kittens that were the sense and center of her life. Another character of the story is a boy who lived across the street.
