This, the third book in the Stagnant Swamp series, recounts the story of “The Great Stagnant Swamp State School Play Fiasco”, which was recently reported in the press as follows:
“Stagnant Swamp State School terrified theatre-goers last night with a hair-raising performance of something advertised as a play but which more closely resembled a civil war in a fireworks factory. This reporter suffered a bite to his ankle from a marauding crocodile, squashed toes from being trampled by members of the Fortescue Throsby Fan Club and a triple hernia from being leapt upon by an angry woman in crystal-encrusted spectacles and a pink tutu who happened to be the size and shape of a Volkswagen mini-bus."
“The acting was abysmal, the directing was appalling and it was quite impossible to follow the plot. If there was a plot at all, it apparently left the theatre at the first opportunity, which is exactly what this reporter was trying to do when he was bitten by the crocodile. The only saving grace was the fireworks display at the end of the performance, which was very impressive.”
With a special guest celebrity disappearance by Fortescue Throsby the Third.
The author, Professor Nigel Peasbody, esq is an eminent historian whose writing has been compared to that of Lemony Snickett.
Suitable for children and adults who like well-crafted language and an intelligent, funny, fast-paced, action-packed story with a complex plot and interesting characters.
Includes numerous cartoon illustrations by Sharon Rowe to keep everyone entertained.
