Murder on Mars is a combination of science fiction and film noir – it is about a psychic detective who is sent to a futuristic Mars to arrest a criminal who escaped from prison on Earth. The detective name is John Walker and he is a special agent with powerful psychic abilities. He also works for the NYPD. He is sent to Mars to arrest the escaped prisoner – Max Thorton. The Mars I created is much like Earth, only cleaner. In the novel, Mars is a new world – it has not become polluted and overcrowded. The capital of Mars is New Washington. But a cancer has invaded Mars – crime. A dangerous crime boss by the name of Johnny Rocco and his associate, Governor Ryan, have arrived on Mars and they begin the process of bringing chaos to a clean world. Max Thorton used to work for Rocco and he has a photographic memory and lots of connections to the underworld. Detective Walker also has a partner – a human-like android named Joe. They are sent to Mars on a spaceship called the Martian Express. On board the ship, Walker meets up with a beautiful detective – Samantha Edwards, who works for the Martian Police Force. She becomes his new partner. Along the way to Mars, Walker is contacted by a race of dead Martians – their world is gone but their spirit lives on. They are distressed to see how bad things are getting….

As Detective Walker arrives on Mars, he learns just how terrible things are on Mars – the cancer of Rocco is spreading and time is running out…..Walker must stop Rocco and his plans to hijack the planet and help the government to restore order…
