Sherry is 18, and living with her mom throughout college. A few years back, her mother started a relationship, and will be married in July. Two weeks ago, Sherry and her mother moved into the new man’s house. They noticed a few bizarre things while moving in. A college friend, Lindsay, spent the night and lost her keys. No matter where they looked, they couldn’t find them. A couple days later, Sherry lost her cell phone. Her phone began ringing from inside the dresser drawer. Sherry thought this was strange, especially since that drawer hadn’t been opened.
Sherry and Lindsay loved watching ghost hunting shows together, and were intrigued by paranormal activity. Before long, they joked about the ghost who hid things. About two weeks after moving in, Sherry and Lindsay were sitting in the kitchen, chatting while Sherry’s mother cleaned. When she turned the garbage disposal on, it wouldn’t work. She shut it off, and upon reaching in, she found another missing set of keys. Their friend Grant had just visited, and had lost his keys. Lindsay and Sherry immediately began explaining their ghost theory. The three women laughed, and decided the ghost needed a name. Almost instantaneously, Sherry’s mother blurted out the name “Rodney.” Sherry thought this was odd, as her mother was usually meticulous and overthinking. Still, Rodney seemed to fit.
