One day, a beautiful cat with soft golden fur came to visit Dang and his sister Malee, who lived in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. It happened to be on Children's Day, a holiday that is celebrated with free rides and free things to eat for all the children of the city. So the children decided to take Golden Cat with them when they went to the amusement park, to bring them good luck until its owner was found, After a few free rides, they had free ice cream, and then went to visit a temple.

In Thailand, when you visit a temple, it is proper to take your shoes off before entering the sacred place of worship. When the two children came out of the temple, however, they discovered that their shoes were gone! Thus began the search for their shoes which were brand new.

How the shoes were found and what happened to Golden Cat who appeared to Dang and Malee out of nowhere, is explained in the exciting final chapter of this book. Within its pages, you will discover how the people of Thailand live and how the children play. And from the vivid illustrations you will get a glimpse of Dang and Malee as they wander through the exciting city of Bangkok.
