This book is sequel to BUDDHA WEPT. EXCERPT : page 78. It occurred to Maria as she gazed at the Himalayas below that they were a relatively young mountain chain, only 55 million years old, and like the Alps, were still growing. The population of Homo sapiens doubled every 50 years, and by 2040 when all the fossil fuels and ground water were exhausted the total population of the earth would be twelve billion. Thomas Malthus and Charles Darwin were right. Populations expand to out grow the resources, and only the fittest survive. Her generation wouldn't see it, but the next generation would. There would always be wars and rumors of wars, and she wanted to get her's in the here and now. Her next big project was Batson Field in Bhama Basin.
