This collection of poems which has taken me a few years to put together, compile and edit, with all the intricacies of neologism, prosaism, phonetism, truism, spiritualism and idealism, has in no small measure educated me, and has infused in my message, to a large extent, the undenied fact that God is no respecter of persons and thus can isolate anyone to achieve his purpose, as long as that person is a willing vessel. I grew up from childhood reading works of our very own-Professor Wole Soyinka and medieval poets like Sharon, John Keats, David William Harry, William Shakespeare, Alfred Tennyson and Emily Dickenson. And I hoped that one day I would not only be a reader but emerge a poet as well. Regardless of how my precocious mind quite early fed on other works, no work of mine is an imitation or plagiary of anybodys work. Every poem written here was carved out from my own thoughts, imagination and personal experiences. As you read, you might observe that this book is quite devoid of pedantries as regards the technicalities in poetry, thus, do not frown much at its poetic license, as it doesnt apply to every poem. I do hope it is enjoyed and appreciated by its readers. If hope then would be a repetition of my words here, backed with expectations that could inspire, incite and stir positivity and virtue in those who read them, so be it. Thus, I hope again, that my anthology would be read by all and considered useful, especially to our young ones at school. The most preferred of my poems here, are: To My Child, I write, Tearful Departure, Teats Beat, Console, Twilight, If tomorrow comes and Harmattans Wind. Though consoled, I am, however not completely satisfied with this piece and thus hope to evolve with better poems in the future. You may find some poems discomfortingly odious and inscrutable. Never mind some of such; they were written in twilight hours.
