A smack to the face wakes you up to reality: your boyfriend is NOT worth this. Hell, no man is. In your escape, you find yourself at a run-down bar… and quickly in debt to a man who wants to be repaid in only one way. (Adults Only; 4,000+ Words)
“All right,” he said, lowly. “Come with me.”
“W-What?”
He didn’t repeat himself; only walked out from behind the bar and through the tables of bikers. I wasn’t about to walk out without paying—I wasn’t that kind of person—so I reluctantly trailed after him, avoiding the eyes of everyone in the room. I didn’t know why they were staring, but I did hear the man from earlier, ‘Ben’, shout after us—
“It is her, isn’t it? We gonna go beat Lockjaw’s ass or what?”
The moment I stepped through the doorway into the next room, Davis shut the door behind me, blocking out Ben’s voice and most of the noise. We were in what looked like a lounge. There was a leather couch and flatscreen over an old rug; photographs of tattooed men on the walls. Even a big pair of antlers on one wall. A desk was tucked away in the corner.
I looked around me, confused—and more than a little anxious.
“Why am I in here?” I asked.
A deep voice came from behind me.
“To pay your debt.”
