Oswald is up to his old tricks trying to impress a lady. For a TV programme on Hauted Lincolnhire, he raises the ghost of Jeremiah Hopkins, a Witch Finder from the 17th century, just to impress Caroline McDo, the glamorous TV presenter. Once raised the ghost refuses to depart and makes Oswald's life hell.
Caroline persuades Oswald to help her film the Cambeach Bottle Kicking, an ancient village sport. What she learns during that filming allows her to blackmail Oswald to help her much even more.
Oswald has to use all his wit and guile to evade the ambitious presenter's clutches and to escape the attention of the irate ghost of the Witch Finder.
