She is best known by her books such an “Australian Legendary Tales”, “Tales of the Dreamtime”, “Wise Women of the Dreamtime” and other.
“Ouyan the Curlew” is one of numerous Australian legends collected by Catherine Parker narrating about a person who was too old enough to become independent and get brave because his mother flamed out at his constant staying at home. The argument was simple “You must go and hunt as other men do, less the women laugth at you”. Read the story till the end to know would he manage to solve this challenge?
