This is a Young Adult novella. Leah Malone was sentenced to 12 weeks on the Douglas Farms for being an accessory to stealing a car. She knew nothing about farms or animals. However, she had no choice, she'd learn. After being kicked out of her families life, she had no where to go.

Every day she worked side by side with Jeremiah Douglas, the youngest son on the Douglas farm. He was twenty years old and he knew all about farm work. Still, he was patient with Leah and her lack of knowledge. She had to gather eggs, slop hogs, milk a cow, and muck out the stalls in the barn. None of which she knew a thing about Jeremiah taught her though and she was a fast learner.

She had bargained on falling for Jeremiah, but he had such a sweet nature about him that she couldn't resist him. Then Leroy broke out of jail and came to get her. It seems she'd been living in his apartment and not paying rent, and he came to collect. First he'd take her, then he'd ransom her off to her folks. Could Leah ever get a break?
