When the French philosopher and scientist Blaise Pascal made his famous wager, it was widely deemed to be an unanswerable argument for Christianity. In the three centuries since, however, other arguments have been advanced that seem to nullify Pascal's Wager.
But do they? Pascal's argument was a cynical approach to theology - and so long as you are a cynic, neither science nor the problem of evil nor the complications of miracles detract from the force of the wager.
