Path to Magic is an appeal to each of us to wake up to our divine nature and transform ourselves and the world. The book is written as a series of 19 Principles of Transformation, each illustrated by a poignant story from Weatherspoon's long experience training professional athletes. The authors own moving saga of failed relationship and disappointed dreams leads off the book, and he examines how his untamed emotions almost ruined his life. His premise is that we are, as Chardin said, "…spiritual beings having a human experience." He says that by following the practices within the book we will come to a realization of "that force that lies within us all which makes us more spiritual than physical; the part of us that is always available, always enough, and always capable of conquering any endeavor." Weatherspoon instructs us that "this method gives us the tools and the resources for all that life has in store for us." His blueprint for transformation arouses us first with the Principle of Desire, then we are lead naturally through our motivations such as Joy and Faith; darker encounters like Forgiveness, Conviction, and Courage and eventually ends with Peace. The author's wisdom is derived from a wide base of study, quoting Gandhi, the Bible, and even Buddha but his guiding principles are derived from the Ancients of Egypt and then adapted by his own voice and intuition. There is a companion Path to Magic Workbook available at lulu.com which has meditation, journaling and other exercises designed to work the 19 Principles in our daily lives.
