This nostalgic book will take you on a tour around Pershore, a typical Worcestershire market town. Local historian Marion Freeman shows us how little, in essence, the place has changed. The abbey still remains the centre of town life, and traditional values are still appreciated, in spite of society's otherwise rapid transformation. Commencing at the top of Newlands and including smaller side streets, we progress to the river at the foot of the town. We look towards Evesham before turning along what was originally the main road towards Worcester. We pass the majestic Georgian buildings with their Tudor foundations before turning towards the railway station and Pinvin. En route we discover the changing uses of old buildings and the decline and growth of local organisations, shops and businesses.
