Adam Cain is a troubleshooter for Piers Enterprises. His employer makes Genetechs: modified biological constructs which serve as workers for other companies. Cain's role is to pass as a Genetech to discover why various clients are experiencing problems with production or other reasons. His boss, Karo Piers, is CEO of the company.
