Where to start? The rats have run rampant on board the Audrey Eleanor for two months we estimate. We call our neighbours who own The Knotty Gal, we want them to be aware that there are rats on the docks. As we walk the dock rat signs are everywhere.Hopefully few have managed to gain access to the interiors of anyone else’s boat.
Holly, who owns the Knotty Gal knows about the rats, they saw signs of them in late May.They had notified the manager of the marina and they had expected him to let everyone else know about the infestation. He was already aware of the situation at that time and claimed that a fish boat had shown up and infected the docks in May.
It is JULY 13th, we had talked to the manager several times between then and now, and he said nothing about rats!I believe that they came off of the Emerald Tide; the old mine sweep that sags at the dock beside us. When the previous owner ran away in a hurry, he left a month’s worth of food on counter tops and in cupboards and on the floors. In his haste he left both doors wide open…he was involved in a rental purchase agreement for this tub and I think he smelt a rat.Possibly several dozen rats!
