While snorkeling on a reef near the island of Grand Turk in the Caribbean, Dave Flynn and Chris Neil come across the broken wing of a small aircraft—a discovery which sets in motion a relentless chain of events that turn their idyllic lifestyle into a nightmare.
Something of value was aboard the plane and a number of people believe the couple to be the key to finding it.
They are first approached by two men claiming to be New York police officers; then a smooth-talking DEA agent. And hovering in the background is the enigmatic head of the local police force.
Who can Dave and Chris trust?
As it turns out, each is following his own agenda with varying degrees of determination and ruthlessness.
But human predators become insignificant when nature unleashes the terrible fury of a hurricane.

Reef is an action/adventure set in the Caribbean during the nineteen-eighties—a time when many of the islands were as lawless as when pirates scourged those waters.
Born in Australia, Peter Lawson learned to sail upon the waters of Sydney Harbor. He has since navigated small boats across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and throughout the Caribbean. During his voyages, he has experienced the exhilaration and terror of four hurricanes.
While working as a commercial diver Peter lived for many years aboard his forty-five foot sailboat in various ports throughout the Caribbean.
