Prominent outdoor writer and dog breeder, Gord McIntyre, looks back over a life spent in the outdoors in Remembering Richly: The Rewarding Outdoors.

Beautifully illustrated with woodcuts by Julie McIntyre, Gord’s daughter, this book is a contemplative ─ and at times poetic ─ look at hunting, fishing, camping, and one man’s relationship with his dogs, his daughters, and his long-suffering wife, who expressed utter horror when it was suggested she might sleep in a tent . . . and then became an expert camper.

However, age began to inhibit Gord’s forays into the wilderness; and finally, he and wife moved to a condo in Toronto. His memories remain shiny and vivid, and he shares them with us along with his contemplations on modern life, dowsing, aloneness, and other random thoughts.
