Homicide Detective Prentice Colfax works hard to the bone with her partner to solve crimes. Between Prentice and her partner, Jacob Raine, they were able to close all of their cases. How she works her cases, along with her mental state of mind, changes when something vile happens to her and her family.
Two people enter her home, one commits a vile act and doesn't live to see the night. The other one follows her on her quest to find out why someone would kill to get inside her home and what the mystery is that is hidden within her family.
On the downside, along with needing to solve the case before she goes crazy, Prentice also has to deal with a new detective who is fresh out of the academy. With a big head and ego, Prentice must do what she needs to get the newbie to learn how it works, along with getting who is after her family behind bars.
