The setting is a small fishing village. The former seaman Longren (Ivan Pereverzev) raises his daughter Assol (Lena Cheremshanova/Anastasiya Vertinskaya)[6] alone after losing his beloved wife, making a meager living by selling the toy boats he carves from wood.
