Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji was born on 16th of January 1630. He was the son of Baba Gurdita Ji and Mata Nihal Kaur Ji. He was the seventh Nanak, the seventh guru of the Sikhs.

He was nominated the seventh Guru on 8th of March 1644. He followed the footsteps of the sixth Guru and devoted his life to the spread of Sikhism.

Guru Sahib left for heavenly abode at the young age of 31. Just before his death, Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji made his son Har Krishan the eighth Guru of the Sikhs. At that time Har Krishan Ji was only five years old.
