St. Benedict's would be perfect to serve Father Vincent's special interests. Situated in an almost forgotten part of New Orleans where poverty and crime reigned, it was a parish the Bishop rarely visited. The parish was perfect for the charismatic priest's presence to be felt throughout the area. He would be the person the lost in society came to for help. In view of all that would happen, the vision he had for himself didn't scratch the surface.

The naive Sister Mary Celeste seemed to be the perfect target for Vincent's desires, but the young nun was not as unsuspecting as he hoped. With the help of her Mother Superior, Mary Celeste is spirited away from the Convent. With guidance, she finds refuge in another Convent located on a distant mountain in Tennessee where Mary Celeste believes she will find safety. Yet, even in this remote location, she fails to escape Vincent's pursuit. In this second book of his projected modern Gothic trilogy, Gilmer White casts a shadow of fear far from the New Orleans parish as Vincent enlists the Druid Rites of Spring of his native Ireland in a malevolent plan.
