Sharon Ann is a short story to introduce a main character of A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists, an historical fiction novel that is available online today. She was a teenager who grew up in England during the rise of the Methodist religion. Circumstances came into play that caused her to be among the first group of Methodist colonists to arrive in Norfolk Towne, of the colony of Virginia. Her loyalty to her family and her devotion to God are true, but the timing of this move away from the only home she has known frightened her. She had been courted by several boys from her hometown of York, England. None of them accompanied her on the great ocean voyage to America. Sharon Ann was a young woman of faith, encouraged to shape what might be, even as she was torn by the loss of what might have been.
