According to recent studies, this disorder is an obsession with shopping, need to make frequent and repeated charges of objects often unnecessary or that exceed their financial capabilities. This publication reviews the general characteristics of the phenomenon, taking into account the latest discoveries and contributions that may help the reader identify a line of demarcation between ordinary purchase and purchase pathological, to move, then identification of the subjectively shoppers suffering from the psycho-pathological framework. The discussion follows the discussion of signs and symptoms in the presence of which could be reflected by the "syndrome" and ending up with the tricks and remedies that may be adopted by simple techniques in self-help remedies, before starting a real course of treatment. It should however remember, even at the end of a proper use of this modest contribution, the syndrome of compulsive shopping is a phenomenon that falls under the "new addictions" and has many aspects that are still open and controversial, if not all unexplored, against which there is a need to find new interpretive tools that foster an interdisciplinary approach.
