A highly intelligent professor at NYU moonlights as a vigilante contract killer. The driving force behind his other job comes in the form of nightmares he has about an innocent couple gunned down years prior.

Aside from the inciting nightmares, however, Julian Rhodes seems to have his double life under control. He enjoys his day job as an Art professor, while finding a weird sense of satisfaction in moonlighting as a contract killer; as he only takes assignments where the target is a truly reprehensible individual, who has escaped justice due to poor police work, or the incompetence of the prosecutorial representatives entrusted to convict him.

In a way for Julian, playing the executioner provides a sense of due process on behalf of that poor couple in his nightmare, whose only misstep was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Unfortunately, like all good things come to an end, so does Julian’s streak of unconventional good deeds when he executes an innocent man. As a result of faulty information (accidently) provided by his contractors, not only does he wipe out the wrong man, but the man also happens to be the stepson of a high profile politician in the midst of a Governor’s race.

Unconvinced that his assignment was the result of an innocent misunderstanding, Julian is forced into the unenviable position of trying not to get caught, while at the same time figuring out who set him up, and why.

Along his journey for truth and ironically justice, he’ll have to deal with the bumbling’s of his degenerate gambler best friend, and falling for a woman who’ll eventually turn out to be more trouble than she’s worth. In the end, Julian’s fate (as well as those closest to him) will come down to a Heart over Mind decision; or vice versa.
