Procrastination is the bad habit of putting things off to do at another time. Tasks that are boring or require a lot of effort or thinking to do are the tasks which we tend to postpone thinking that by procrastinating they will just magically get done or someone else might be able to find a way to take it away from you. When the time comes that you find you can no longer postpone doing the task, you’re faced with more problems that make the task more difficult to solve and, what’s more, you need to act in a hurry because of lack of time.

Like all bad habits that need to be broken, procrastination requires a great deal of commitment and determination in order to overcome it. Here are some tips which this book can provide you:

1.       Plan your schedule. Write down your specific tasks. List your plan of action in line with each task. A schedule will help you avoid distractions.

2.       Set a deadline for each action item as the time limit will help focus your mind and energy to get things done at the set time.

3.       Be determined to finish each task. Just concentrate and direct all your efforts and thinking into the task at the moment until you get it completed. Once done, check it off your list and then move on to the next task.

4.       Check your progress at the end of the day. Don’t aim at doing things perfectly. Your goal is to make progress. Reward yourself for your hard work.
