Powerful and uplifting, Strange Lands cleverly takes you away from Earth to a planet where the mysteries are as strange as the darkest shadows. In order for Allan to get home, he must fight the foulest creature. Millions of lives hang in the balance, but so does Allan's. Can he survive and rise to be a hero?

This adventure is so thrilling and unlike anything you’ve ever read, you’ll be hooked until the last page. Follow Allan's path of self discovery, and watch him take back what he's lost. Strange Lands is a spine tingling adventure, with exciting twists & turns. A perfect and inspiring read for 10 and up.

REVIEWS (previously published as Surviving the Improbable Quest)
“When Lan Darr needs a hero, someone to rid their world of the monster Jibbawk, an unlikely child amid all the creatures of the land must step up to the challenge. If Atlas’s descriptions of the creatures Allan meets in Lan Darr don’t leap off the page as if you’re meeting them yourself, then his dazzling illustrations throughout the novel certainly will. Indeed, it’s difficult to know which talent to admire more: the writing or the artwork. Ultimately, Strange Lands is a fantasy tour de force, a harrowing Alice in Wonderland. ” ~Michael Frissore of Sonoran Arts Network

Allan and Rubic are marvelous characters, and Atlas' plot is well-crafted, original and imaginative. I'm looking forward to the next Allan Westerfield adventure. Allan Westerfield Off-World: Allan Westerfield Series, Book 1 is highly recommended" Readers Favorite.

"This book easily received 5 stars from me. I have read a lot of survival stories and science-fiction, and this is by far one of the best because of originality. This was the first book I’ve read where the main character – Allan Westerfield – is a paraplegic teen .I was on the edge of my seat as Allan works his way through figuring out this new adventure he has encountered. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but my favorite part was when Allan met the “balloon-like creature.” Reviewed by Jori at Kissed by Literature

"Allan Westerfield is riveting and an extraordinary tale of courage and adventure. The chapters flow easily from one to another, creating a nice narrative that is gripping from start to finish. I also have to comment Atlas’ command of the language because he was able to paint a very vivid world" Review by Victoria at Book Beast
