A widowed mother of two young teens, Elizabeth Kimble, is a detective in the good old boy Tampa Police Department. When she begins a follow-up investigation to a previous case she starts running into numerous, divergent and seemingly dead end leads, including the murder of several former street gang members.

A friend uncovers evidence that points to a large, on-going conspiracy which is frighteningly close to home. The two seek the aid of the new Assistant District Attorney and between them, they connect the dots from one murder to the next. It’s complex and confusing, often raising more questions than answers.

Detective Kimble is forced to face some terrible conclusions about her old life and when she has to juggle her memories of her murdered husband and her gradually burgeoning relationship with the ADA, grief is burden she must bare once again.

The two investigators become aware that real danger threatens Detective Kimble and her children. The Christmas season brings violence to Liz’s front door...
