Drugs, prostitution, guns, and knives ended up being a way of life, but not because I wanted it that way. Innocent recreational use of cocaine progressed into a full-blown drug addiction with all the dangers and actions that become a way of survival. My journey starts out in a family of love with Catholic morals and values. Life was great with sisters and a brother and parents who couldn’t have been more blessed. Christian upbringing, good neighborhood, vacations, and fun were all I had to worry about as a kid. What more could I possibly have asked for? Nearing fourteen years of age, I started to make bad decisions, and evil followed. People, choices, and circumstances led me to the streets of hell. Staying alive every day was a low possibility. My parents knew very little, until I frequently came and gone from their house, with telling lies and stealing family cars. Calls from the police came in. Going to jail and prison was the hope for a cure, but it wasn’t. I should be dead, but I’m not. I am only here because of the miracles of Jesus Christ written in this book. Family members tell their journeys of being on the other side of my addiction, and what they did to cope and help.
