"All things of dearest value hang on slender strings."
~E. Waller, 17thC. Poet

Strings – Garden of the Gods is the first in a series that will follow a Swiss family thrust into the maelstrom of war, atonement, justice, and ultimately redemption. It follows the family over 4 generations and 80 years from Switzerland to its Texas ranching family.

July 1938. Germany is poised for war. Lt. Rolf Ziegler, son of an influential Swiss banker has been chosen for a clandestine military program to save as many of Europe’s finest musicians and scholar’s as possible from the oncoming chaos.
No sooner does he begin than he learns his wife has been recruited and he becomes embroiled in a labyrinth of painful deceptions discovering he is forced to choose between serving two master’s – his country or his conscience. Serving either could cost the lives of those he loves as he is drawn into a tightening web of lies.
In choosing, he must ask himself if he can live with the cost of his decisions, which will alter the course of his family’s lives and leave them bound to a moral obligation that will affect next three generations.
